A shooting incident along Chicago’s Magnificent Mile has left multiple individuals injured, further raising concerns about ongoing violence in the city.
The incident occurred near the intersection of North Michigan Avenue and Chicago Avenue, where witnesses reported hearing between eight to ten gunshots. According to initial accounts, a white four-door sedan was seen traveling in reverse while shots were being fired, creating panic in the busy area.
Authorities say a female victim was shot in the back, while another female sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg and is reported to be in good condition. A male victim, described as a Black individual approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, was also shot and is believed to have made his way to Northwestern Hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that the suspect, described as a Hispanic male with dark hair, fled the scene in a white four-door vehicle, heading northbound on Rush Street. Additional reports indicated that a black Ford or Nissan may have been involved in the shooting.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, establishing traffic control along Michigan Avenue as they worked to secure the area and assist victims. Details regarding the identities of those involved have not yet been released.
