A tragic crash in Peoria, Arizona, has claimed the life of a juvenile and left several others critically injured, according to local authorities.
The Peoria Police Department reported that the two-vehicle collision occurred Tuesday near the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway. One of the vehicles involved, a Honda Civic, was carrying five juveniles at the time of the crash.
During the collision, one of the juveniles was ejected from the vehicle. Emergency responders transported four of the occupants to the hospital with critical injuries, where one of them later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Lake Pleasant Parkway when it collided with a Nissan that was making a left turn. The driver of the Nissan sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.
